Sci-Fi Cross Species Breeding is Moronic
When you ignore the sci, all you have is fi.
What Set Me Off Now…
It was a recommended YouTube video I wish I hadn’t of watched; a clip of Star Trek, season 3 episode 15 - “Let That Be Your Last Battlefield”.
The episode featured 2 warring factions. One group had half their face painted white and the other half black, while the opposing faction had the same colouring but on opposite halves of their face. This was the only noted difference between the peoples.
Obviously this was a painfully ham-fisted, woefully ignorant, comparison to white people and blacks here in reality. Very 1969. Which is why I can enjoy the episode. It’s a product of a very different era, from a visionary of science fiction who only wanted people to get along. Gene was naively special.
His son Rod is a dipshit. So much for genetics.
My irritation came from comments on the video. They were some of the most uninformed, ignorant ramblings I’ve ever come across. I go to a lot of sackable websites! Every other post was about how white people and blacks are the same, apart from skin colour. That’s science fiction.
Perhaps all the rational comments were deleted? Obviously my comment was deleted and not by me. So here we are.
Almost all of today’s problems arise from peoples lack of ability to accept reality. To be shown proof they’re wrong, undeniable evidence, ingest the knowledge and change their mind. However, you can’t teach stupid. Though we should be able to remove their right to vote.
Before reading that comments section, I had never before questioned cross species breeding in the likes of Star Trek. It’s a TV show. Accept it’s not real and enjoy the ride. But now I know the damage it’s inflicted upon an impressionable society of idiots, to people not mentally equipped to separate fiction from reality, Star Trek has lost a little of its magic.
People with different coloured faces are incomparable to the differences between white people and blacks. Let alone the scores of other humanoid species on Earth.
To understand this, we need a short science lesson. I’ll keep it brief. Brief enough.
Different Species Which Breed on Earth
Would it be ignorance on my part to assume everyone has read “On the Origin of Species”? It can be tough at times, but when a book of perversions like “50 Shades of Grey” sells around 15.9 million copies… surely those people have also read Darwin’s world altering works?
What shocked me most about Darwin’s book was the fact that no one in the scientific community, back in the 1800’s or the current year, can agree on what defines a species. At what point in evolutionary diversion does a form of life get declared unique? Buggered if they know. I find that insane.
There are around 17,500 species of butterfly. Delias is a genus of butterfly, sporting around 250 different species, organised by species group. Can anyone guess what the sole difference between most of these species is?
Colour. I’m surprised there hasn’t been a full blown military conflict between horticulturalists who, after hundreds of years, continue to debate whether there are hundreds or thousands of types of rose. The difference, again, almost entirely being colour. Does a new colour denote a new species? There have been worse reasons to go to war.
You can see where I’m going with this.
There are differences between butterfly species with eating habits, migration and proboscis (cross between a tube and a tongue). The latter being the difference between someone with a big tongue and a small tongue. Does that make a different species?
The Fixation index (FST) is a way to measure genetic distance between populations.
The FST between the common chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) and the bonobo (Pan paniscus) is 0.103. They are considered different species.
The FST between Whites (British) and Blacks (Bantu) is 0.23. More than double. What does that mean?
The differences between white people and blacks is so vast that there’s no scientific reasoning for them to be classed as the same species. The only anchor dragging down progress is a snowflake mentality that we’re all the same.
We’re not. Physically, mentally or socially. If we’re to visit other planets and interact with unfathomable alien species, this is a core concept that needs acceptance on Earth first.
Imagine an alien species were to visit Earth, taking a white person and a chimpanzee as specimens. Assuming the aliens were as dumb as people on Reddit, wouldn’t they think we could crossbreed? 2 arms, legs, bipedal, nose, eyes, nearly identical internal organs, why couldn’t we breed?
Given our alien overlords are so much smarter than SJW’s, wouldn’t they look at the biological difference between white people and blacks then assume they couldn’t breed?
The alien rectal probes would find many differences:
Spine
Jaw
Eyes
Muscle density
Cranial capacity
Skin colour
…
Culturally and mentally the distinctions are just as, if not more, extreme.
Yet with all those differences, white people and blacks can breed to create a mongrel. That’s the scientific term for a blending of different species. This is due to a shared ancestry. Aliens would not have this. They may be humaoid, but the chances of crossbreeding would be 0%. I’m not saying close to zero, it would be zero.
Obviously species on Earth become more complex when incorporating other humanoids such as the various Asian species. There are multiple of them too. Trying to keep this simple and pertinent to the original Star Trek episode.
However, all the different species of human can interbreed. At least for now. This boils down to factors including:
Human species share the same number of chromosomes; blueprints for building life. If the sperm and egg have different blueprints, they can’t bond.
Similarities in genitalia.
Size of sperm and egg.
Similar hormones.
There are many biological reasons why species similar in appearance can’t interbreed. Even more ethical reasons.
Humans share a 96% genetic similarity to chimpanzees. Simpletons may try to humanise chimps, dressing them in clothes and diapers, but they’re not human. A humazee mongrel is impossible. Human sperm and chimpanzee eggs, or vice versa, will not fertilise due to fundamental biological differences. Regardless of how many indoctrinating HR courses they’re sent on.
With a few million more years of isolated evolution, white people and blacks would be so genetically divergent that they couldn’t cross breed either.
With all that being said, why would it be taken as granted that humans and aliens could breed together? Because they’re both humanoid? Like humans and chimps?
More importantly, how dense would a person have to be to take this mumbo jumbo as fact?
Trust the Science Fiction!
In science fiction, particularly Star Trek, the biological differences between various humanoid species are far greater than those which solely inhabit Earth.
Klingon/Terran and Vulcan/Terran are the most common hybrids within the Star Trek universe. Neither of which make any logical sense, even for science fiction. Differences between these species isn’t skin deep or a variation in intellect. They are extreme.
B’Ellana Torres (Voyager) and Worf (TNG, DS9) are the most famous Klingon/Terran mongrels. Differences include:
Klingon blood is either red or pink, depending on which episode you watch!
If their blood is a different colour then it’s of a different composition than Terran blood. Different proteins, hemoglobin, oxygenation? Neither species could process the other species blood, so how can they interbreed?
Klingons have large cranial ridges, prominent from birth.
A baby with these ridges could not pass through a Terrains pelvic bone.
Klingon babies must weigh more at birth given the larger bone masses. A Klingon womb would likely require extra force to push the baby out. Wouldn’t a Terran hybrid have lower bone mass, be more fragile and crushed by the contractions?
Klingon skulls are elongated, stretching further back than humans.
To hide the actors natural hair under prosthetics?
Again, would make it impossible to pass through a Terrain pelvic bone.
Would a hybrid be more likely to be turned around during birth from a Klingon mother and strangle itself with the cord? Or become stuck?
Klingons are more susceptible to the cold.
A Klingon uterus would be too hot for a Terran hybrid.
A Terran uterus would be too cold for a Klingon hybrid.
Klingons live longer, are stronger, have a greater bone mass and muscle density.
A Klingon uterus would provide too many nutrients for a mongrel to process.
A Terran uterus wouldn’t provide enough nutrients for a mongrel to process.
Klingons internally have:
23 ribs (Terrans have 24)
2 livers (Terrans have 1)
8 chambered hearts (Terrans have 4)
3 lungs (Terrans have 2)
2 urinary tracts (Terrans have 1)
Multiple stomachs (Terrans have 1)
Numerous redundant internal systems not present in Terrans
How could a Klingon and Terrain breed together? These aren’t the differences between white people and blacks, they’re the difference between white people and squid.
Vulcans don’t just have pointy ears, they are different than Terrans under the skin too. Let’s start and end at their blood; it’s green. What the hell causes that? There’s no way the DNA of each species would combine.
Remember Deep Space season 4 episode 24 ‘Body Parts’? Keiko (Terran, Japanese) was injured while pregnant with Chief O’Brians (Terran, White) baby. The fetus was transplanted in to Kira (Bajoran).
Outside of science fiction, that’s a ludicrous concept. I don’t mind it being in the show. I like that episode. My problem comes from an ignorant modern fan base who aren’t smart enough to understand that' it’s not possible. My problem isn’t with Star Trek, it’s with dumb people who treat films and TV as education.
Mongrel species, as put forth in Star Trek, are impossible. Yet the video which led to this article is littered with mind numbing, idiotic takes about how differences on Earth are only skin deep.
Wrong. Couldn’t be more wrong. Is that the level of intelligence in modern sci-fi communities? Is this what I’ve been “missing out on” at pervert events like Comic-Con? I don’t believe there’s anyone who attends such gatherings who wouldn’t break down in tears if told Klingons and Terrans couldn’t breed together.
The differences between the 2 aliens in Star Trek season 3 episode 15 - “Let That Be Your Last Battlefield”, was only skin deep. That’s the hyperbolic nature of the scenario. It’s also a TV show. It’s not real. Those aliens don’t exist outside of your imagination. Welcome to reality.
I remember back in the 90’s when Star Trek fans were renowned for their comprehension of advanced sciences. We would research scientific theories and come up with our own explanations as to how technology worked in the likes of Star Trek.
These faux sci-fi fans today seem to struggle at the starting block… fiction.
Don’t get me started on alien viruses, diseases, parasites and language!
